One day, when he saw the game between the Devil Bats and the Zokugaku, he felt a burning desire in his heart to join the team. Although he is short and weak, when he saw Eyeshield 21 who was alike, was willing to stand up to all sorts of difficulties without being afraid, Manabu wanted to be just like him.
